Nutrition Oral Ketogenic
The Nutrition Oral
ketogenic (NOKs), defined as Oral Nutrition Protein (NOP) is a
nutritional therapy slimming purpose based on an essentially protein
that originates directly from NEK (ketogenic Enteral Nutrition).
The main difference between NEK and NOKs is in the way of
administration of protein in the first case using a naso-gastric fluid
protein is continuously instilled into the stomach.
In the NOKs proteins are taken orally in various ways:
Ketone bodies are the result of the transformation process of the stored fat into sugars necessary to perform normal physical activities. In this way the excess fat is removed sparing the lean body mass, ie the muscles. If the effectiveness of the NEK is closely linked to the use of modes of enteral nutrition, this is not possible in the NOKs. It the very form of administration of protein substances, which contained a liquid inside a small pouch, and introduced slowly and continuously into the stomach of the patient through a nasogastric tube forcing the body to utilize fat endogenous to support themselves by avoiding the consumption of lean protein. NOKs in the administration of proteins as mentioned above takes place orally and currently is not reproducible administration of the protein solution slow and continuous as in the NEK, so to obtain an effect similar to the tube should be taken in the three devices such as mode of administration (easy, medium and strong). The main variable is the duration of therapy:
